#1016 Fischer Random Wrap-Up

LM Mark Kernighan won the Kenilworth Chess Club's Fischer Random Tournament, which finished on April 5th.

The event was shortened to 3 rounds, due to a shortage of players.

In the final games... Kernighan beat Bob Sherry and Mitesh Shah defeated Geoff McAuliffe (colors and starting position unknown).

#1010 Sweden-USA Underway

The Sweden-USA correspondence match, is underway!

I am playing on board 14 against 2291-rated Anders Brissman.

Other U.S. players with Kenilworth Chess Club ties are 28th board Jon Leisner, who played in our Ruy Lopez Thematic last fall, and top board GM Edward Duliba, winner of the 15th USCCC and a former USATE teammate of Ziggy Bliznikas.

IM Justin Sarkar and LM Todd Lunna tied for 1st at today's G/15 Swiss in Westfield.

Alan Gu took the U2100 honors and Sante Calandri was the top-scoring U1600.

Tom Polese, Fermin Arias and Sam Chatsky split the U1850 spoils while Brahmteg Minhas, Glenn Jacobs and Gabriel Calandri divided the U1350 prize.

#1002 Kenilworth Quads

Ian Mangion and Greg Tomkovich were section-winners in the Kenilworth Quads that were held March 8th-22nd.

Lou Sturniolo and Chris Constantino split the 2nd place prize in Section 2.

#1001 Gulko To Lecture At Bergen Club


On Monday, April 16th, from 7-8 p.m., 2-time U.S. Champion GM Boris Gulko will be giving a "Strategy And Tactics" lecture at Bergen Chess Mates in Ridgewood. The fee is $15.
