#1062 Sherry Wins Summer Tournament

Bob Sherry clinched 1st place in the Kenilworth Summer Tournament and tied Scott Massey's (unofficial) 2004 record for most points in the tournament, 15.5.

I won twice to seal the 2nd spot but should have lost the following game. My opponent missed 2 shots (17...Bxh3! -+, 21...Re3! -+) and hung a piece at move 39.

#1061 Another GM Draw

This afternoon I agreed to another GM draw with Jo Wharrier of England.

My 14.Nd4 (N) varied from the 14.e3 of Agdestein-Alburt : Taxco Interzonal 1985 but didn't bring any advantage.

#1060 Summer Tourney - Round 10

Bob Sherry split 2 games and clinched a tie for 1st. Mark Kernighan won twice and moved to within a half-point of 2nd place.

I beat the leader but blew a win against Darshan Patel (48...Rxg4+?? instead of ...Rf3 -+) and had to yield a draw. Greg Tomkovich also had 1.5/2.
