I missed an opening refutation (7.dxc6! +-), made 5 more mistakes (beginning with 16.Bxd3?), got away with a blunder (26.Bxf5+?? -+) & was winning at the end but taking a draw was best for business & my soul. 1.Nf3 d5 2.d4 Bf5 3.c4 e6 4.Nc3 Nc6 5.Bf4 5.a3 is a good alternative. 5...Nf6 6.e3 Ne4?! 6...Bb4= 7.cxd5! Bb4??N
He should have played 7...Nxc3 8.bxc3 Qxd5 or 7...exd5 8.Bd3 ≤8.Qb3 Bb4 transposing to the game. 8...Bb4 9.Qc2 0-0 10.0-0 Bxc3 11.bxc3 Re8 8.Qb3?? 8.dxc6!
