The U.S. Military's Interservice Championship begins today in Great Lakes, IL.
The top scorer from each branch of service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines) plus the next two high scorers will represent the U.S. at the NATO Military Chess Championship later this year.
Chess Mates owner Capt. Arthur Macaspac (Army) and Kenilworth Chess Club President Sgt. Don Carrelli (Marines) are among the participants.
